fruit trees. The neighbors turned out,
and, with wax and bandages, remedied
the evil. A few nights since, this orime
was repeated, and tho. remainder of his
orohard was completely destroyed. As a
consequence, there is great ^excitement
jin that vicinity.
The New York World remarks that
there are about 18,000 persons in that
j city who pay tax on incomes. Of this
j number 750 pay on about one-half of the
entire amount returned.' In short, of tho
184,000,000 returned, 42,000,000 belong
j to a little over 750 persons.
