Strong' de? tachments of military are posted in tbe streets to prevent an outbreak. CJOHDOVA, SPAIN, Jane 12.--At the Re Enbliese meeting 50,000 were present, deputies from every. Southern province participated, and protested against a monarchy, w.th revolutionary speeches. The Spanish and American flags were entwined, which elicited great shouts for America and Grant. While the meeting was in session, tho military and civil guards interfered, which created a panic. Women and children were trampled down and several lives lost. The crowd then barricaded the streets. A serious affray is anticipated. LONDON, Juno 12.-The House of Gommons bas postponed the debate on the Alabama claims to the 10th of July. The House of Lords debated the dises? tablishment, bill, but no action was taken. The men aro tried soldiers of the late war. Desertions from the Spaniards to the Cubans are causing frequent, colli? sions between the troops and volunteers, whose animosities aro irreconcilable. It is possible that the Bhode Island Sprague has never heard of the Chicago Sprague, bot one of his letters would be some? thing to have in tho list of the Washing? ton Globe. Sprague, of Chicago, is a sort of criti? cal visitation sent to us to show us in how many and what miraculous ways certain English words may be spelled. He would pass for a pretty good jokist of the orthographical school, and some of his efforts are without parallel. He spells the word wild thus "+ld." This sublime reliance on the sound of the first letter would have broken tipo heart of Artemus.
