WITHOUT A GOOD DKiESTIO.V.-All other
temporal blessings aro comparatively worthless.
Tho dyspeptic millionaire, who has tried all tho
potions of tho modical profession in vaiu, and
believealiis complaint to be incurable, wonld give
half his fortune to bo freed from the horrors of
indigestion, and thus enabled to enjoy the other
half. Of course he would.
Perhaps HOSTETTER'8 STOMACH BITTERS
bas been recommended to such a sufferer. PoBki
bly bo has turned from tho friend who made tho
suggestion with a sneer, intimating that ho has
no faith in any '?patent medicine." If this baa
been tho case, so much thc icorse for him. His
incredulity dooms him to a lifo of misery. All the
luxuries which wealth can purchase aro at his
command. Not ono of them can give him plea?
sure. His own irrational obstinacy is bis bane.
Tho masses, happily for themselves, aro loss
skeptical. Thero is such a thing as bigoted unbe?
lief', as woll as bigoted credulity, and; a golden
moan between tho two, which men and women
who are gifted with common sense adopt and
profit by. ThcBO are the class that patronize and
recommend HosTETTEn's BITTERS. Why do they
approve this famous anti-dyspeptic and anti?
phons preparation? Simply because they have
not boen too much tho slaves of sonseleea preju?
dice to give it a fair trial, and have found that
when all other tonics, stimulants and stomachics
failed, it produced tho desired effect.
"Strike, but hear," said the Roman sage, when
his ignorant enemies were assailing him. "Doubt,
but try," says tho man who has boon cured of in
digostion, or biliousness, or intermittent fever, by
tho Bitters, as bo relates his experience of the
medicine to his invalid friends. Whoever is so
wedded to his own foregone theoretical conclu?
sions, as to declino to test tho properties of a
medicino endorsed by the testimony of intelligent
men in every walk of lifo, and approved by the
people at large, deserves to stiffer,
