Western lino of Pennsylvania, along the

A banking house in Paris, wishing to test
the discretion of ita clerks, confidentially
imparted to them a false report from Turkey,
which if true would have created a
panic at tho Bourse. In an hour or two the
false report was spread all through the
street. The house is understood not to put
much confidence in tho secretiveness of its
clerks.
A Dubuque milliner has achieved a real I
triumph. She has engaged tho services of
a taxidermist, who prepares tho skin of a
prairie chicken as if for stuffing und mount?
ing, and then by altering tho shape a little
the fowl becomes a hat for a young lady,
and no trimming is necessary.
