The report of tho County Commissioner of Marlboro, relative to the division of thal County into townships, was referred. A resolution relative to taking caro of tin marble in the State House yard, was ordere? for consideration to-morrow. A bill to prevent and punish bribery am corruption, was read. A bill to confirm and declare valid th recent election of Mayor and Aldermen c the oity of Charleston, S. C., was agreed b and sent to the House. A bill to provide for tho revision au consolidation of the statute laws of Sout Carolina received its third reading. Bills to incorporate thc Ashley Fire E gine Company, of Charleston; to regula the formation of corporations; and amend an Act entitled "An Act to dctermii and perpetuate the homestead;" receiv a third reading and wero ordered to tl House. A joint resolution authorizing the Conn Commissioners of Oconeo County to sell t interest of the Stu to in the Keowee ai Tuokaseegee Turnpike Hoad, received third reading, and was ordered to be se to the House, A numbor of bills were read a soco time. The House sent to the Sonate a conci rent resolution to appoint a joint commit) to consider aud report upon the prese railroad systom of this State, and to requ the attendance in this city of the Preside! of the different railroad companies of tl State, or entering the State, to deviso uniform schedule of rates of freight a connection throughout the State, and to commend what railroad companies, by th management and importance, are worthy aid by the State. So ordered Tho Committee on Claims reported sundry accounts of B. H. Rico, amounl to $7,320.62, for articles of provisions \ chased for the maintenance of convicts c fined in the State Penitentiary, hnd rec mended payment of said accounts. A on account of P. W. Fuller, amounting $226.00, for services as Messenger of Supreme Court, and recommended payn of the same. Adopted, and ordered to Senato for concurrence. The Committeo on Railroads, repo favorably on a bill to enable the Navan and Charleston Railroad Company to c pleie their road. Also, reported on a bill to extend the provisions of an Act for tho relief of the Charleston and Savannah Railroad Company, nnd recommended that the bill be laid on tho tablo. Ordered for n second reading. The Medical Committee reported favora? bly on a bill to amend an Act entitled "An Act to establish quarantine at Georgetown, Charleston and Hilton Head." Ordered to a second reading. The Committee on Engrossed Acts re? ported as duly and correctly engrossed for a third reading a bill further to amend the Acts incorporating thc University of South Carolina. Tho Senate sent to tho House a bill to confirm and declaro valid tho recent election of Mayor and Aldermen of tho city of Charleston. Also, a bill to regulate tho for? mation of corporations. Mr. Lomax presented tho petitiou of sundry citizens for the creation of a new County out of certain portions of Abbeville, Newberry, Edgetield and Laurens Counties, to bo called the County of Ninety-Six. Re? ferred. A bill to authorize U. C. Wilson & Co. to build a dock and collect wharfage in the town of Beaufort, was read and referred. Tho account of W. K. Greenfield, for Silt), for rent of committee rooms from November 17, 18(38, to February 12, 18G9. inclusivo, was referred to a Special Commit? tee of Five, who shall have power to send for persons and papers. The account ($157.50) of Wm. Simmons, for repairing tables, Sec., iu tho House of Representatives, was referred. A resolution was referred to the Commit? tee on Ways and Means, that all claims against tho services rendered previous to the commencement of tho present fiscal year, that have been, or may hereafter be, reported upon favorably by a Committee of either House, and passed for payment, be paid by the Treasurer out of au unappro? priated balanco now in the Treasury, amounting to about $29,200, as far as it will go, aud upon the pr?sentation of au order for that purpose, signed by the presiding officer and countersigned by the Clerk of tho respactive Houses in which such claims may have passed for payment. A preamble and concurrent resolution was referred to the Committee on Ways and Means, that during the roccss of this session in tho holidays the members of this Gene? ral Assembly were denied their per diem and mileage; aud whereas, said members were put to expenso for their support during that time, therefore, that un appro? priation bo made sufficient to defray at least the mileage of the members during U.-t i:_ LU.IL. Ulm:. The petitions of J. R. Gossett and J. B. Reed, of Pickeus, for removal of political disabilities, were referred.
