MISOBT .T ? A 3XT
"YES" AND "NO."-A yoong lady Las
published a poem entitled "Have courago
to say'No.'" It is not.it may be said,
addressed to her own sex, -who need no such
advice. But "No" is a most formidable
.word, and though there are proper times
when it should bp used, as in cases that tho
lady enumerates in her poem-whenever
tempted by tho syren to enter billiard
rooms, to take wine, or to visit gambling
hells. But the "No," when injudiciously
uttered, is very often tho seed of trouble.
The "No" is too often spoken by parents
frons their own inappreciation of a thing
that their children desire; and the children
refused, without a very nice discrimination
in the premises, and feeling there is no
harm in what they may ask, impute tho re?
fusal to tyrauny, and as resistance to tyrants
is obedience to God, they covet moro strong?
ly tho boon denied, and, if possible, secure
it in defiance of the mandate. The word
"No," never should be uttered hastily,
and never without a reason for it, which
reason, if sound, will be admitted. But
tho Hullen, absolute, unreasonable "No,"
produces ills that tho parent more thnu the
child is answerable for. We have known a
bouse made miserable for a month by a pa?
rental refusal of somo little indulgence that
had no harm in it beyond the fancy of tho
paront, and bent brows and sulky looks hard?
ly compensated the affection that mistak?
ingly prompted the denial. Depend upon
it, thora is often more danger in saving "No"
than "Yes."

Bia LAKE, RICHLAND DISTRICT, S. C.
Dr. E ll. Heinitah-DEAR Sin: Upon the recom?
mendation ot a friend. I purchased a lu Ht lc of
your QUEEN'S DELIGHT, and took it for
Chills and Fever. I report to you a complete cure
of my case. I have been living on Big Lake,
where the Chills and Fovei prevail, as an epidemic.
1 have escaped them entirely, attcr taking your
valuable mixture. 1 can recommend its general
use, in cases of Debility, and in Derangement of
thc Liver and Stomach, lt is a valuable medicine.
Yours respectfully, J. J. DOUGLASS.
LANCASTER, Penn., Sept. 25, 1807.
Afr. E. II. lleinitfih- DEAR SIR: Tho bottlo of
QUEEN'S DELIGHT which I bought from your
agent in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, has given mo
entire satisfaction. I have been a dyspeptic for
many years, and never found relief from an
attack-, except by traveling. A chango of climate
and diet always improved my health, but this
made it necessary to travel. Your QUEEN'S
DELIGHT does away with thia expensive process.
No medicino ever before produced nugoodan effect
after using ono bottle. I am almost entirely
relioved of pain. My bowels are regular. I expe?
rience no nausea, and am improving in health.
Tho QUEEN'S DELIGHT is certainly tho beat
medicino I havo overtaken. I will recommend its
use. Yours respectfully, JAMES P. DOUNEY.
