The Detroit Post contains an account of a
"woman who, to "give tho world assurance
of a man," went out West, bought forty
aores of land, grubbed out fourteeu acres of
iieavy oak, chopped and split rails, built a
?ouse, sowed eight aores of wheat, dug
ditches, supplied ber neighbors with axe
Ifblves and splint baskets, besides atteuding
to her domestic "chores," all with her owu
Jbands, in a year and-a-half. She lives
alone, "keeps her own secrets," and is re?
garded as tho "coming woman." Mrs.
Elizabeth Cady Stanton, Antoine! to Brown,
.Anna Dickinson, and all the rest of the

"way for her. Thoy may make speeches,

A little fellow in Hartford, Conn., recently
fell from tho ?.op of n coal bin, and put his
shoulder out of joint, and a surgeon was
sent for at once. Though suffering severe
pain, the lad, who is a regular climber, got
into a chair and on top of it, and fell head?
long to the floor, his mother supposing that
ho had broken bis neck this time. But be
jumped up, and, swinging bis arm gleefully,
shouted, "it's all right, it's all right!" and,
