of thc most eminent medical men in the
Union promptly responded. Their opinions
of tho article woro unanimously favorable.
Such a preparation, they said, had long
becu wanted by tho profession, aa no reb?
aneo could bo placed on thc ordinary
liquors of eommeree; all of which were
moro or leas adulterated, and, therefore,
unfit for medical purposea. Tho peculiar
excellence and strength of tho oil of juni?
per, which formed one of tho principal in?
gredients of tho Schnapps, together with
an unalloyed character of the alcoholic
clement, give it, in tho estimation of the
faculty, a marked superiority over evorj
other diffusive utimulant as' a diuretic,
