T-.11 - m Tl,-?_J-rt TT Up to the time of tho fearful coal mine disaster in England, on Thurs? day, there had been no loss than 449 lives lost this year in the British collieries, 286 by firo-damp explo ? sions, and the remainder by falls of roof and coal. The last disaster will probably carry tho total loss of life during the year to over 700. The Lancaster ledger says: Two of our citizens who emigrated to Tennessee last fall, returned this week with their families and personal effects. Wc are pleased to leam that several others, who had cast their lots in Missouri and Florida, are homeward bound. A woman, name not given, plunged a knife in the bosom of a v young lady, in Madison County, N. pO., a few days since, in n fit of jea 1 lousy. It transpired afterwards that sho Lad killed a sister of the intend? ed victim by mistake. The murderess isin jail. Near Desoto ville, Choctaw County, Ala., a few days ago, a negro was murdered by auothor, because he had renounced radicalism, and proclaim? ed himself,a Democrat. Sandy Run Church, iu Cleveland County, N. C., together with ull the books, church papers, &c., was de? stroyed by fire on the 14th ultimo. Accidental. In Whitfield County, Ga., a few days since, Mr. Benjamin Goss, while fording the Coona River in his buggy, Was carried away by the stream und drowned. A terrible oxplosion hus occurred in the Arlev mine colliery at Wigan, England. It is ferrod that full 300 lives are lost. Already thirty-two dead bodies have been found in the ruins.
