DEATH OF ON*E OF NAPOLEON'S BODY
GUARD.-Mr. Simon Huscher, who
served for eight years under tho first
Napoleon, and who was attached to
the body guard of tho great Captain
during his operations in Russia and
in Spain, died at his lato residence
in Philadelphia, on Wednesday last,
in the eighty-seventh yenr of bis ago.
Som? years since, ho bad a ball ex?
tracted from his log, received during
tho memorable advance on and re?
treat from Moscow.
Mention was mado some time sinco
of tho resident of Watertown, who
wheeled his wife on a wheel-bar?
row from that place to Saratoga.
The trip was undertaken on tho ad?
vice of a physician for tho benefit of
the wife's health. On Monday last,
tho couple passed through Utica on
their way home, tho woman restored
to health and walking beside her
husband, who wheeled tho empty
barrow.
The New Orleans 'Times says the
commercial flags in that city are at
half-mast in memory of departed
business.
