THE REPEATED TRICK.-The old
radical trick of exciting the Northern
people to hostility and vindictiveness
towards the South at election time,
is again revived, with a view to the
Presidential election. The caitiffs
and scallawags are calling fox arms
everywhere in tho South. They say
there is no safety for "Un io ti men,"
and they must be armed that they
may protect themselves. Ono after
another, tho States aro represented
to be in rebellion-troops and arma
are clamorously demanded of the
Federal Government. Every neigh?
borhood has its emissary, who manu?
factures his case of horror-of rebels |
oppressing or murdering "loyal"
people-and tho whole pack of con?
certed fables is scattered broad-cast
over the North, to alarm and irritate
the Northern peoole, and strengthen
the cause of the radicals. How long,
asks the Richmond Dispatch, will the
inhabitants of the country North of |
Mason and Dixon bo deluded by
these transparent forgeries?
MORMON SEOEDERS.-A train of
twenty-three wagons of Josephite
families, on their way from Utah to
the States, has arrived at Cheyenne.
They express themselves very much
disgusted with the way that they were
-treated by Brigham. They asserted
that the portion of thoso who acknow?
ledge Brigham are not true Mormons,
but Brighamites; and that he is not
a true prophet or the legitimate suc?
cessor of the head of tito church, but
an impostor who, in the namo of the
church, makes arbitrary laws for his j
own personal advancement and gain.
