AFRAID OF HIM.-It is a signifi?
cant fact that Butler was not invited
to Henderson's marriage. It is said
he intended a present of silver-ware,
had he been asked to come. Miss
Foote is reported to have withheld
him an invitation, for the double
reason that many valuable presents
k would be exposed to view, and be
cause she did not wish to receive
silver service marked with initials of
other people.
An Indiana burglar, after securing
a good amount of silver plate, for?
warded a letter of good advice to his
victim, in which he said: "Allow me
to respectfully suggest to you in the
future you will content yourself with
cheap spoons, and spend your sur?
plus cash in tho oause of humanity
and of Christ."
A Miss Joy was present nt a party
recently, and in the course of the
evening somo one used the quota?
tion, "A thing of beauty is a joy for?
ever," when she exclaimed, "I'm glad
I'm not a beauty, for I would not like
to be a Joy forever."
