C., December 3. 18G7, tho following provisions are made, viz: "From the rccoipts of Express or other Transportation Companies, earned within the limits of tho State, one dollar on every hundred dollars; and from the receipts of Telegraph Companies, earned within the limita of tho State, two and one-half dol? lars on every hundred dollars; on the gross incomes of all Railroads, (not ex? empted by law,) from oarnings within tho Stato, ono dollar on every hundred dollars; that the tax on Railroad Companies, Ex? press Companies and Telegraph Compa? nies shall bo returned to and paid directly into the Treasury of the State; and these return* shall be mado quarterly." The taxes specified above will be due, for the second quarter of 1868, on the 3Uth JUNE, instant.
