MAN 117 YEARS OIJJ.-Jacob Fernance, known for the last eighty years by the name of "Old Peno," is at?l living with Mr. Mulky, in this city. Too old to oontinue in his old business of trapping in the Western mountains, he has for the last thirty years been living with Mr. Mulky, and is well oared for. "Old Peno" is now 117 years old. He was an old man when the battle of Now Orleans was fought, at which time he did duty under General Jackson. This old man still shows considerable activity, both physical and mental; takes great interest in the different improvements going ou in and about the oily, and averages a trip once a week to the Kansas City Bridge Works, which takes him nbout three quarters of a day to perform. When about home he occupies most of his time, in the spring aud summer, in attending to his gurdon. Fernance was born iu Canada, and emigrated from that country South when hq woe about thirty years of age. [Ka/isas City (Mo.) Advertiser. The Peace Commissioners have re? turned to Fort Laramie, having niade treaties with the Crows, Br?les, Sioux, Northern CheyeuueB and Arapahoes. "Man Afraid of his Horses" is also about to accept terms, but "Red Blood" scuds a heated message to the Commissioners, that he will see them when thc military posts are evacuated.
