WASHINGTON, May 16.-Tho im?
peachment court met this morning,
and on motion of Senator Williams,
it was decided, by a vote of 34 to 19,
to vote on the eleventh article first
Messrs. Ross, Fowler, Fessenden,
Grimes, Henderson, Van Winkle,
Trumbull and Willey, voting with
those in favor of acquittal. Wade
voted in the affirmative. This vote
is considered conclusive of acquittal,
as it Bhows only a strength of thirty
four for conviction. The vote on the
eleventh article was 35 to 19-Ross,
the doubtful Senator, voted nay
saving tho day for the President.
After which, Chase declared the Pre?
sident acquitted on the eleventh
article-which was ordered to be
read, and is ns follows:
[It was added to the original set by
Mr. Bingham, after the others had
been adopted in the House. The
court decided to take it up first, as it
was considered the strongest; and, as
is presumed, with the hope of having
the prestige of its adoption to affect
actiou on the others.]
ARTICLE ll. That tho said Andrew
Johnson, President of tho United
States, unmindful of* the high duties
of his office, and of his oath of office,
and in disregard of the Constitutiou
and laws of the United States, did
heretofore, to wit, on tho 18th day of
August, 1866, at tho city of Washing?
ton, and the District of Columbia, by
public speech, declaro and affirm in
substance, that tho Thirty-ninth
Congress of the United States was
not a Congress of tho United States,
authorized by tho Constitutiou to
exercise legislative power under the
same; but, on tho contrary, was a
Congress of only part of the States,
4jJiereby denying and intending to
xieuy that tho legislation of said
Congress was vnlid or obligatory
upon him, tho said Andrew Johnson,
except in so far as he saw fit to ap?
prove the same; and also thereby
denying and intending to deny the
power of the said Thirty-ninth Con?
gress lo propose amendments to the
Constitution of tho United States,
and in pursuance of said declaration
tho said Andrew Johnson, President
of the United States, afterwards, to
wit, on tho 21st day of February,
1868, at the city of Washington, in
the District of Columbia, did unlaw?
fully, and in disregard of the require?
ments of tho Constitution, that he
should take care that tho laws be
faithfully executed, attempt to pre?
vent the executiou of an Act' entitled
an "Act regulating tho tenure of cer?
tain civil offices, " passed March 2,
1867, by unlawfully devising and
contriving and attempting to devise
and contrive means by which ho
should prevent Edwin M. Stanton
. from forthwith resuming tho func?
tions of tho office of Secretary for
the Department of War, notwith?
standing thc refusal of thc Senate to
concur in tho suspension theretofore
mado by said Andrew Johnson of
said Edwin M. Stanton from said
office of Secretary for tho Depart?
ment of War; and also b? further un?
lawfully devising and contriving and
attempting to devise and contrive
moans then and there to prevent the
execution of an Act entitled "An Act
making appropriations for the sup?
port of tho army for the fiscal year
ouding Jun? 30, 18GS, and for other
purposes," approved March 2, 1807;
and also to prevent tho execution of
an Act entitled "An Act to provide
for tho moro efficient government of
tho rebel States," passed March 2,
18G7; whoreby tho said Andrew John?
son, President of tho United States,
did then, to wit, on the 21st day ol'
Februarv, 1808, at the citv of Wash
ingtou, commit and was guilty of a
high misdemeanor in office.'
The first motion to adjourn to the
26th inst, was declared out of order.
An appeal was made and sustained,
when Henderson moved to adjourn
to July. This vote was pending,
when the House adjourned to the
26th inst. It is probable the court
will adjourn *o Tuesday, the 26th.
Wade voted throughout the dav.
4 P. M.-In the Senate, the Judi?
ciary Committee reported, without
amendment, the House bill admittiug
Arkansas, which lies over. The om*
nibus admission bill, from the House,
was referred to the Judiciary Com?
mittee.
Tho court opened at 12 o'clock.
All the Senators present. Chase,
after admonishing the people to
qniotness, ordered the clerk to read
the eleventh article, when the nnw
tiona were propounded in the terms
agreed upon. Those voting not
gritty were Bayard, Bnckalew, Davie,
ixon, Doolittle, Fassenden, Fowler,
Grimes, Henderson, Hendricks,
Johnson, McCreery, Norton, Patter?
son, of Tenn.; Boss, Saulsbury,
Trumbull, Van Winkle, Vickers-19.
Wilhams moved fifteen minutes re?
cess; negatived. Bethen moved ad?
journment to the 26th. Johnson
suggested an announcement of the
vote. Chase said he would not an?
nounce the vote until it was taken on
all the articles, unless the Senate
ordered otherwise. Drake raised a
point, that nothing was in order.
Pending a motion to adjourn, Hen?
derson said a motion to adjourn was
not in order while tho roll was pend?
ing. Chose sustained the last point
and directed the Secretary to read the
roll; whioh being read, the Chief
Justice stated that there were 35 voted
for "guilty,"and 19 for "not guilty,"
and that the President was, there?
fore, acquitted on the eleventh arti?
cle. Chase then stated that the Se?
nate was now in process of carrying
out the order to proceed to voto upon
articles of impeachment, and no mo?
tion was now in order whilo that WOE
pending. Conness appealed. The
appeal was sustained-3D to 24. Then
by a voto of 32 to 21, adjourned tc
the 2Gth.
Mr. Wade then resumed tho Chair,
and after a long debate, a joint reso?
lution, adjourning to tho 25th, wat
negatived, and the Senate adjourned
as usual.
In tho House, a resolution, that loi

A Great Spring and Summer
IM VIGOR ATOR A ND RESTORER.
NOW IS THE TIME TO CLEANSE OUT
those PERILOUS SPOTS, Pimples,
corrupt sores, which POLLUTE tho LIFE
of tho BLOOD, and render your body a
loathesome thing. Thoy aro" tho precur?
sors of a diseased blood, and will assume
a much more formidable shape if allowed
to go on unchecked. The QUEEN'S DE?
LIGHT, the only real blood purifier that
has ever boon invented, as thousands will
to-day attest, is offered to tho afflicted as
a positive remedy for all diseasos flowing
from a vitiated condition of tho svstem.
THE LIFE OF THE FLESH ?8 PURE
BLOOD. Upon this theory alono the in?
ventor of the Queen's Delight establishes
tho groat hygienic law, WITHOUT PURE
BLOOD NO FLESH IS FREE FROM DIS?
EASE. Tho Palo and Shrunken Forms,
Yellow Facos. Weak Stomachs, Diseased
Livers. Crippled Rheumatics, Nervous
Hypochondriacs, Dyspeptic \ictima of
Headache, so common In this country, is
owing entirely to tho humors of tho blood.
Very many other diseases may bo traced to
bad blood, Scrofula or King's EvU, Erysi?
pelas, Exanthema or Elevare; a rash or
eruption on females; Blotches, Tetter,
Goitro or Swelled Neck, Syphilis and Sy?
philitic Soros, Btrumoua Ulcors, ?co.
These cannot bo cured without purifying
the blood. Now as to tho remedy. There
is no other blood purifier that will accom?
plish such positive and extraordinary cures
as Heinitsh's Queen's Delight. You may
take a barrel of ^attract Sarsaparilla, and
still you will not/oo cured; and, as a proof
of it, look around and yon will observe the
couutrv, throughout" ita length and
breadth, is flooded with compound Sarsa
Earillas, extracts and syrups, claiming to
o blood purifiers, and yet wo see to-day
moro evidence ot impurity of tho blood
than ever. Why is thu;? Simply because
these extracts and Sarsaparillas aro worth?
less medicines.
The Queen's Delight is a new compound,
and is now the great blood medicino; sanc?
tioned by tho profession, patronized by the
highest dignitaries of tho laud, endorsed
by everybody.
In tho brief period of twelve months,
ovor 3.000 cases havo boen treated so suc?
cessfully aa to entitle it to he the wonder
of me age.
For debility, prostration, nervousness,
mental depression, impaired digestion,
loss of appotite, rcstlcsuess, want of vital
force. Low spirits; it ls more invigorat?
ing and strengthening than all tho com?
pounds of bark or bitters. As a liver
invigorator, it is of inestimable value. Aa
a stimulant, it is safer and surer than all
the rum and whiskoy tonics of tho day,
and if you value your life and health a
pin's feo, avoid these quickening stimu?
lants to the grave and UHO the Queen's
Delight. Ask for Heinitsh's Queen's De?
light. This ?H not the Extract of Stellin
gia or Queen's Delight, nor is it a Com?
pound Syrup of Queen's Delight, or Sarsa?
parilla and Queen's Delight, but simply
Heinitsh's Quoeu's Delight is the trade
mark. Ask for this if you want to bc
