It involves $60,000,000 decreaso in
revenue, and goes into effect 1st of
April. It exempts everything but
spirits, liquors, oil, gas, certain kinds
of wines and tobacco, and passed 122
to 2. Schenck stated that the Com?
mittee favored the continuance of
two dollars on whiskey.

an atrocious murder was committed on
tho body of B. F. BRADFORD, of Walter
boro, S. C., by blows inflicted, on tho night
of Wednesday, tho 2Gth of February; Baid
Bradford lingering until Friday, tho 28th,
upon which day ho died-by two persons
unknown, and that all efforts tn identify
and arrost tho said partios have as yet
boen unavailable.
Now, know ye, that to tho end that the
said murderers may ho arrested and
brought to condign punishment fur tho
said felonv and murder, I do hereby offer
a reward" of THREE HUNDRED DOL?
LARS for their arrest and safe delivery in
any jail in this State, with proof to convict
thom of tho samo.
They were persons of color, and wero
dressed in the uniform of United States
soldiers, and are supposed to belong to
the garrison now stationed at Walterboro.
