ING STATEMENTS.-The forth-coming
monthly report of tho Commissioner
of Agriculture will show Borne inte?
resting features. Tho corn crop for
18G7, it is therein stated, will be less
than in 1800, notwithstanding the
largelv increased population of the
United States. The total, 775.832,
000 bushels, is about 53,000,000
bushels less than the total census
returns of 18G0, which was 838,792,
710 bushels; the crop of Pennsylvania
for 1SG7 can bo stated at 30,457.000
bushels; Delaware at 3,030,000; Mary?
land, 11,050,000; Virginia. 18,400,000;
and North Carolina, 17,074,000 bush?
els.
Tho returns relative to cotton in?
dicate fully tweuty per cent, increase
in tho aggregate ov?r the orop of the
year previous. The total estimate
places tho la.it crop at 2,340,000 bales.
An interesting feature of tho report
is an article on tho trado of tho At?
lantic States with California, and a
table attached, showing that tho
vessels which have brought wheat
hither from tho Pacific coast have
taken back nearly $12,000,000 worth
of manufactured goods and assorted
merchandize for tho quarter ending
September 30th last.
Last year there were 3,GS5 deaths in
Cincinnati; the losses l>v fire were
$1,000,000, ?500,000 more than the
insurance; tho citv expenses, ?2,883,
