Previous to 1783, there were very lew, and those of such an inferior order, as to prejudice farmers against them as unfit to compete with horses in work upon tho road or farm. I used it on corn. It answered finely, and was thought by the hand that cultivated tho crop to IK fully equal to Rhode's Super Phosphate. I also used it on about an acre of cotton, and I am clearly of opinion that it is tho beat and cheapest fertilizer in use, and I expeot to order Beveral tons this winter. Where tho Poudretto was used, it gavo us near half a bale moro per acre, and causod the cotton to open much earlier; and we would, therefore, recommend tho samo as a concentrated manure for tho growth of cotton, as well as improvement to tho soil.
