A black man who should try to earn a living by driving his own coach and carrying passengors in it, would be first beaten to a jelly for his impu? dence, and thea hauled before a ma? gistrate for violating the ordinance aforesaid." RESOLUTIONS OF THE NEW HAMP? SHIRE DEMOCRATIC STATE CONVEN? TION.-First declares fidelity to the Union and the Constitution to be the cardinal doctrine of the New Hamp? shire Democrats, and pledges no abatement of zeal in their behalf. Second declares the Congressional plan of reconstruction to be re'T*u tionary, and an attempt to establish negro suffrage an atrocious crime against the principles of Republican Government and tho civilization of the age. The third relates to legisla? tion outside of the Constitution. The sixth congratulates tho Middle and Western States on tho recuut elec? tions, and invites conservative men from those States to unite with them in securing similar results in this State. _ There is a story of a party of ladies on board of a ship in a storm off Capo Hatteras, who shamed their male friends by their superior resig? nation to the immediate prospects of shipwreck, but who, fortunately ar? riving at Newborn, broke iuto wail? ing and feminine execration over the saturated condition of tho finery in their trunks.
