or fifteen shots were fired from a
negro military company, and a white
boy killed instantly. The coroner's
verdict was that death was occasioned
by a musket boll, fired from the rear
rank of a negro military company,
supposed to be the "Butler Guards;"
and that it was totally without cause
or provocation. /
NEW YORK, October 18.-A boiler
exploded at Pier No. 5, North River,
to-day, demolished a building and
carried itself into the river; killed
two men and wounded five.
A Havana despatch states that Santa
Anna has beau sentenced to eight
years' banishment.
BOSTON, October 18.-Benzine,

ing furniture here to-day, ignited,
burning one of them to death and
hopelessly injuring the other.

The premature explosion of a slato
blast, to-day, injured seven persons
three fatally; two kegs of powder
poured into a crevice exploded, it is

WASHINGTON, October 18.-In a
well -authenticated conversation, the
President expressed himself to the
following effect: Regarding impeach?
ment, he apprehended that the radi?
cal leaders would become more des?
perate than ever, and hesitate at
nothing to accomplish their revolu?
tionary purposes. Referring to the
suspension before conviction, he de?
clared he would resist with all the
powers which tho Constitution fur?
nishes for its own protection. On

change would be made; he will

party cliques, but draw around him

versified-cold feet, pain or weakness
through the limbs, swimming of the head,
sudden flushes of neat, Ac
