Congressmen in Ohio last year, the Republicans carried 1G oat of the 19 districts in the State. At the eleotioo, on the 8th instant, .tho Democrats carried twelve out of the nineteen districts, and came with? in 100 of carrying two or three Others, In every Republican dis jtriot tine majorities are out down im jmonBely. lu the seventh district,' Iwhich gave Hon. Samuel 8hellaber* ger 2,171 majority last year, the radi ?escaped with bare ninety-five ority at the recent election; while the eighth district the majority, reduced from 1,856 to sixty-two. the second district, the radical lidate waa defeated by nearly fc.,000 votes-Gen. Carey, his success led opponent, although personally in favor of negro suffrage, is opposed to forcing it upon any State, and pledged himself to the Democrats to oppose any measures looking to the passage of a bill by. Congress enfran? chising the blacks, either in the North at South. He may, therefore, bo re? garded as an opponent of the Con Breseional policy of reconstruction, 'he last significant feature about these distriots is the revolution in the tenth. This' district is represented by Mr. J. L. Ashley, the member of Congress who brought in articles of impeachment against the Fraudent. As will be seen, the Republican loss is 2,041-giving the Democrats a majority of 124 in the district. A despatch from Harrisburg says Shares-wood's majority is 744. The Republicans have fifteen majority on joint ballot. J The Democrats gain three State Senators in Iowa, and 10,000 votes. The2Republican majority is 20,000. ?-??? The Yellow Fever. The affair passed off without unpleasant incidents. NEW YORK, October 15.-At the Jerome Park races, the hurdle was won by Julius-Tycoon second time 8.85??. In the park handicap, Moore was first, Enchantress second. Moore drove foal, and the race was given to Enchantress. Time 2.12^. A despatch was received from New Orleans which states that the cpi- j demie is declining, and notifying all parties making collections to stop, as there are enough funds on hand. WASHINGTON, October 15.-There will be no Cabinet changes, unless j the secretaries resign peremptorily; I 'which is improbable until after the New York elections. Internal revenue receipts to-day 8281,000. Gen. Beauregard had an interview with Gen. Grant to-day. The State Department has advices from Malta, September 20, that tho cholera had appeared. In a conversation regarding the Southern railroads, Gen. Grant ex? presses himself to the effect that they nave been managed with great energy, and that their inability to pay the indebtedness to tho Government arises from canses beyond the control of the managers. He favors the extension of time in all cases. A Tribune special says the largest cotton claimant is a former New York bank president, who went South at the beginning of tho rebellion, with a largo sum of money. Ho claims 900 bales captured by Sherman at Savannah, which tho Treasury re? fuses. Resolutions have been introduced in the Tennessee Legislature favoring Grant's nomination and tho abolition of thc cotton tax. FOB.
