Particulars from Norfolk County
show a serious state of affairs among
the negro squatters. Besides resisting
the United States officers, they have
held meetings, whioh they attend

hold the lands they were on at all

The oldest wooden house in the
United States is in Dorchester, soon
to be a part of Boston. It was built
in 1633, and is. called tho "Minot
House," from tko name of its first
owner. The house was occupied by
General Washington and his body
guard for a season, during the revo?
lution. Tho liaise is two stories
high, and the outside has, by no
means, a bod lock. Its frame is of
oak, {either Iris! or white, and the
beams are as so md as ever; and like?
wise the whold tframe, with the ex
option of the sil?, is in a good state
of preservation. The rooms are
oddly shaped, ?nd awkwardly ar?
