A villainous Yankee has been going about secretly among the negroes in -Central Florida selling them, in fours, at fifty cents each, wooden stakes painted red, white and blue, orna? mented with a small streamer, telling them that whenever they planted those stakes at the four corners of a tract of land, the land would become theirs when the expected confiscation came. It is rumored that he has dis Eosed of a cargo of these sticks and as returned to the North to get another supply. The fortress of Lnxumbourg, about whioh Europe was last spring almost on the point of going to war, was finally evacuated by the Prus? sians on September 9th, in obedience to the provisions of the treaty made at London. ' The militia of Luxem? bourg, whioh is now neutral terri? tory, have garrisoned the famous fortress. Paris has a rumor that Napoleon is duplicating all the crown diamonds with paste .imitations, If true, this indicates that he fears a hasty de? parture from the Tuilleries and in? tends putting the real jewelry before? hand in some placo of security.
