General Mower issued an order to .doy, modifying the military orders . relativo to juries, in the State of Texas, BO as to render it practical to -Obtain juries in that State. The or .der requires jurors to be drawn from those registered, and none other; and no other oath is required than that of registration. The election passed off quietly in the city both days; no officiel returns in yet. In the fourth municipal dis? trict, the total vote polled was 1,260. The Republican desponds of the vote being large enough to render th? election valid, and says the white vote is about one-tenth of the whole. The entire vote of the city ia estimat? ed at 12,000; the whole number re? gistered is over 28,000. Several in? stances have been noted of negroes 'voting, or offering to vote, under a .different name than that on the re? gistry papers. NEW YORK*, September 29.-Gen. Scott's will bas just been probated. It bequeaths the Pulaski sword to West Point; that worn in the Mexi? can war to his grand-son, Winfield Scott Hoyt Professor Charles King, President of Columbia College, New York, died in Italy. NASHVILLE, September 30.-The city is perfeotly quiet. On Saturday, voting was confined mainly to the negroes and strangers. The Mayor receded from his determination of holding a poli under the charter of 1865, but the present officials will hold until ousted by courts or bayo? nets. RICHMOND, September 30.-The books of registration will be opened for final revision on the 8th of Octo? ber. Shanks, of tho committee appoint? ed to investigate the treatment of Federal prisoners, addressed a crowd of negroes this evening, at the Capi? tol. Tho split in the Republican party here is becoming more marked. WASHINGTON, September 30.-In tho report of the Commissioner of Agriculture for August and Septem? ber, ho represents that the wheat crop is hot as large as anticipated in July. Corn promises a fair crop, if frost does not injure it. 'The army worm mado its appearance in the cotton fields about the 1st instant, and caused considerable apprehen? sion in some sections for the safety of the crop. Potatoes are rotting badly in many of the large potato growing States, and the yield will bo less than last year. O pring to the severe weather last winter, the wool clip this year is from five to ten per cent, loss than lost. James M. Murphy, a Nashville negro, has been appointed by tho Sergeant-at-Armsof the United States Souulo a member of tho Capitol police force. A strong pressure is bearing to secure a modification of the recently promulgated cotton regulations. Nsw ORLEANS, September 80.-In? terments from yellow fever for tbe 24 j hours to Sunday morning amount to 61; to this morning 64. MOBILE, September 30.^-Only three deaths from yellow fever for the past two days. ' _ Riot 1? gnvaunaU. SAVANNAH, September 30.-One Bradley Boston, a mulatto, who has been several times arrested by the military and civil authorities fer har? tan guing the negroes and exciting disturbance, had a gathering here of some thousand negroes, mostly from the country, to-day. In the course of his harangue against white men and in favor of the distribution of lands, the conservative negroes inter? fered with him, when a melee occur? red. A large force of police, charged through the orowd, the military came to their aid and together they cleared the ground. Muskets, brought by a large band of conntry negroes, were taken by the police and turned over to the military. A large proportion of the colored population disapprove of Bradley, and threaten to nssasi nato him. The entente cordiale be? tween the city government and the military affords great satisfaction to all olasses, except the ignorant advo? cates of Bradley. LATER.-The city is in great com? motion. A disturbance is threatened between the country and conserva? tive city colored people to-night. Ged. Anderson, Chief of Police, has triven ordor? fr? ?>rre?t every disorderly person, regardless of color or politics. Tho military are under arms; a large number of arrests have been made.
