The little town of Salzburg, whore
the late council of the Emperors was
held, hos its legend, like most little
continental towns. It tells of a sub?
terranean way that leads into the
heart of Franco. Tradition further
tells of a frozeu giaut, supposed to
be Charlemagne, who sits upon n
throne of ice in the grotto of Hnnter
berg, ready to rise and como forth on
the day when the empire of Germany
shall be proclaimed.
Mrs. Bowden, of Newton County,
Ga., died at 10 a. m., Saturday, August
24th. At 7 p. m., her husband died.
They were converted oii tho same
day, joined the church tho same day,
were baptized tho same day, died the
same day, and wero buried tho same
day in the same coffin, aft"r living
together as mau and wife a quarter
of a century.
