A wealthy gentleman visits the office every week and furnishes stamps for nil letters that require it. What motive prompts him to this action is unknown, but it is said that some years ago, ho suffered loss to a largo amount through the failure of a letter to reach its destination. Tho foundation of a striking fiction was laid in a New York Court on Monday. A woman, as witness, swore she had been a widow for twelve years. The next witness called proved to be her husband, all that time absent. Tears, surprise, faint? ing, reconciliation and rewedding followed.
