South-west Pass this morning, and
landed a telegraphic despatch for the
Austrian Court. Her national ensign
was draped in deep mourning. This,
and the reticence of her officers, is
significant. They, however, report
the City of Mexico captured by the
Liberals on tho 20th instant. The
particulars had not reached Yera
Cruz up to the time of her sailing.
The Mexican schooner Atlas also ar?
rived at tho mouth of the Mississippi
this morning, having on board twen?
ty-four exiled Imperialists and Mexi?
cans, who had'been peremptorily ba?
nished. Among them are several
military officers. They report that
when tho Mexicans demanded the
per? -u .of Santa Anna, tho captain
of tl e Virginia told them they could
take him by force, as he was not
aimed. Ho thou spread the Ameri?
can ensign on. the gangway. The
Mexicans trod on the flag, seized
Santa Auna, thrust him into their
boat, and took him to Campeacby,
