NEGBO TESTIMONY.-Tho Grand Jury of Barbour County, Alabama, in their presentment nt the late terni of the Circuit Court, thus alluded to negro testimony: "This body cannot overlook ono noticeable fact of frequent occur? rence during its sessions, to wit: Tho very frank and undisguised manner in whick freedmen gave their testi? mony before us-thc almost perfect correspondence with that given pre? viously ou tho samo indictments be? fore magistrate's courts, and tho sin? cerity evinced in their intentions. A proof, this, of a redeeming element growing out of that long association of this inferior peoplo with tho con trolling intellect of a Christian race. Crime among them is comparatively little."_ At a recent ball given by Lord Cowley, in Paris, tho Empress Eu? gine was dressed in white, and had sis rows of large diamonds about her neck.
