Too GOOD TO BK LOST.-The I United States Internal Revenue De? tectives aro here from Washington, on a tour bf investigation. They have had a good many of our liquor men before them, examining into .their affairs, and among them our I friend Captain Morris Hobson, of the I steamer "Nellie Jenkins." Gue of) the principal detectives asked Capt Hobson if he had not been bring- j ing a good many barrels marked "whiskey" to Richmond on his boat. Tho Captain replied by asking the officer if the faot of tho barrels being Sarked "whiskey" necessarily made ie contents whiskey. To which hs replied, "Most as? suredly, sir." Thon remarked Captain Hobson, "Well, now, Mr. Officer, answer mo one thing: If I were to take a piece of chalk and mark on your back, ?d-d jackass,' would that make you one?"
