Mr. Israel DiehL a traveler in Asia
and all parts of tho East, has pre?
sented to tho Commissioner of tho
General Laud Offioe several very fine
specimens of Cashmere wool, grown
in Ohio and Missouri, where Cash?
mere gouts aro raised with great suc?
cess. Tho first lot of these goats
were imported atan expense of $1,000
each, and they are now sold for $5.
The wool is long and curly, and as
soft as silk.
The weather has been very cold in
the North-west. Four men left Fort
Abercrombie, Minnesota, on the 10th
of "February last, for a trading expe?
dition on the James River. It has
been ascertained that all four were
frozen to death. A man was found
frozen to death in his wagon, near
Clermount, Iowa, on Sunday last.
