The Pennsylviuiia Legislature voted
last week to have the table on which
tho Declaration of Independence was
signed, and which has been for years
in the State Library at the capital,
and the Hancock chair, removed to
Independence Hall. Tho table is an
ordinary old-fashioned looking affair,
with some half a dozen small drawers.

who furnishes the brains and does
the scolding for the radicals, has is?
sued Iiis ukase decreeing that the
Supreme Court shall be wiped out,
Chase and all. All right. Wipe out
everything; and when all this is done,
windup by wiping out nothing-that
is, Wendell himself.
Tho Chicago Tribune, thc great
radical thunderer of the North-west,
is out in an elaborate and forcible
article against the impeachment of
the President.

WE PROPOSE to publish a WEEKLY
PAPER, devoted tu tho diffusion of
the principles of religion and the interests
of tho baptist denomination. We have
been moved to this undertaking by the
solicitations of brethren in various por?
tions of this ?State, as well as of other
States, among thc readers of the late
Confed?rate Baptist, ami by our own con?
viction that a paper of a high character
would contribute largely to the intellectual
improvement, the religious progress and
the general welfare of the churches. The
field is large, affording ample room for all
sincere and zealous laborers.
Tho liaplist will be printed on a sheet
about twenty-two by thirty-two inches, and
will contain twenty-four broad columns,
mostly in Long Primer type, clear and
legible, io that it may bc read with com?
fort, even by the aged. Its entire mecha?
nical execution will be of the highest order.
Our columns will be enriched by corres?
pondence and contributions from the
other Southern Statis, and, occasionally,
from Europe and our missionary stations
abroad. The entertainment and instruc?
tion of the young especially tho child?
ren-will not be forgotten; and our venc?
ido friend. "Unele Fabian,"' so well and
favorably known to thc readers of the
Confederate Baptist, will resume his labors
in their behalf. In short, wo possess all
the facilities requisite to produce a paper
