paper says that the Southern Hailway
Company is soon to receive 180 rail?

1,400 workmen aro employed-all
native Italians, with tho exception of
two or three foremen. The vehicles
and engines are said to be fully equal
to those produced by any foreign es?
tablishment.
A large cotton ware-houso, near
Norfolk, Va., was destroyed by fire
on Thursday, with 2,500 bales o'f cot?
ton. The loss amounts to $141,500.
