EUROFEAN DEMAND FOR GRAIN.
The New York World, of tho 13th,
says :
Great Britain is renewing her de?
mands upon us for grain. In the
past two days, about a quarter of a
million bushels have been shipped,
embracing large quantities of barley
and peas, with some -wheat, corn and
oats. Probably our whole stock of
grain in this market does not exceed
twelve million bushels; navigation is
now closed for the season; receipts
for some months will be less than the
requirements for home consumption;
and it follows that this extraordinary
shipping demand, if continued, will
soon be seriously felt.
A company of black soldiers are
now organizing in Philadelphia to
emigrate" to Liberia. The American
Colonization Society has purchased a
clipper ship of one thousaud tons
for the transportation of the soldiers.
Applications for emigration are daily
received.

auples, pears and plums, and there are a
number of flourishing arbors of grapes,
including tho Isabella, Catawba, Elands,
Madeira and Scuppernong, on thc place;
also, a fine stock of strawberries, raspber?
ries and other small fruits.
The ornamental grounds about, the house
are extensive and beautifully laid out, and
are profusely supplied with rare and beau?
tiful evergreens, hedges, roses and shrub?
bery and other choice plants.
Altogether, the place presents very supe?
rior advantages for a pleasant, healthful
and convenient rosidence, and such an one
as is seldom offered in the market.
