peal the prcseut franchise law and give
suffrage to the negroes, it being a propo?
sition for universal suffrage and amnesty,

ing, by a vote of thirty-nine to twenty
nine, the East Tennessee members, radi?
cals and conservatives, voting solid to lay
on the table, and the conservatives from
Middlo and \Yest Tennessee against it.
Another bill Was introduced, striking out
the word "white" in the present franchise
law.
Release of Fenian Prisoners.
TOUONTO, November 19.-On Saturday
night, thirty-nine Fenian prisoners were
released from custody. Their discharge
was conducted with great secrecy. The
prisoners received a good supper at tho
railroad station before starting, and each
one waa presented with a $5 greenback.
BUFFALO, November 19.-Many of tho
Fenians liberated in Toronto are now in
this city.
