gislature on his return from the Con

no doubt but that as soon as Mr.
Seward recovers from his present
indisposition, he will lose no time in
carrying his r?solution into e?eet.
According to tho United States :
census of 18G5, there were 12,590,329
youths between tho ages of 5 and 21.
Of scholars between these ages in at?
tendance upon evangelical Sabbath
Schools, it is estimated that there aro
4,500,000, leaving over 8,000,000 not
in attendance at all. Some 564,707
, are emplovetl in teaching" a total of
officers and teachers of SOO, 000.

: inform their patrons that they still live, beg a careful perusal of the following card:
The above celebrated Works were originated and erected during the years 1847, '48
' and 'Lt, by the present senior proprietor, who has (with short interruptions) been con
! stantly connected with them as thu principal manager, and since 18G5, in connection
i with his junior brothers, under the styl.? ot Emery Brothers.
During the summer of 1862, he attended the World's Fair at London, with some of
i his leading inventions, and remained abroad nearly two years, engaged in successfully
establishing their manufacture,
j In thc meantime, owing to embarrassments and losses, the lirm of Emery B.-othcrs,
consisting of Wm. B. and (1. W. Emery, made an assignment, and these entire w^rks
i and business were sold, and purchased hy other parties, and the said firm ceased to
j exist from November 1, 1862, leaving the brothers, Wm. B. and G. W., hopelessly bank
! rupt.
On his return from Kogl.iud, in the early part of ISCA, tho present senior proprietor
j negotiated for and re-purchased the entire interest, real and personal, in arra to these
j works and business, including its entire accumulation of patterns, working machinery
and its business, and continued the same, with the aid of Wm. B. and G. W., to No?
vember 1, 1864, when he assumed its entire management on his own account-Wm. B.
I and G. W., for a very valuable cash consideration, preferring to relinquish all antici
I pated interests and retire therefrom, and with the intention with these funds of com
! promising with their creditors.

the style and name at thc head of this notice, and continues the business, in all its
i branches, at the old stand than which no more complete establishment of its kind
exists in the country.

j and- improvements to their already large assortment of machines, which their expe
i rieiice and observation, at home and abroad, have suggested as desirable.

I the public on the most liberal terms, and a continuance of their patronage is solicited.
In the articles of Cotton Oins and Condensers, they are tho only parties manufactur?
ing them with the improvements which have given these Gins the precedence and their
i world-wide reputation,notwithstanding other parties are now representing that they
: have purchased the Emery Agricultural Works and are making these celebrated-ma
i chines as a glance at the facts anil their machines will satisfy the most common
I observer.
The property which was purchased by said other parties, and called the Emery Agri
I cultural Works, consisted of a recent collection of machines, tools, patterns. Ac, by
j Mr. Parr, with the services of Wm. B. and G. W. Emery, and located in the village of
i Bath, in an adjoining County, and in value about ?5,00? to $7,OOO; the two Emerys tak?
ing employment with the new organization.
Wc again solicit the attention of the agricultural public and trade, and assure them
that nothing will be spared to maintain the well-earned reputation of our wares, which
