CINCINNATI, September 22. The steamer
Gen. Bucll, with the Cincinnati and Louis?
ville mail, was hoarded at Warsaw, Ky.,
night before last, by 200 or 300 men, who
forcibly seized C. W. Ferris, United States
Mail Agent, and took him ashore. Ferris
was Provost Marshal at Warsaw during the
war, and was instrumental in the execution
of two guerillas, by order of Gen. Bur?
bridge. The Gazette cud Commercial says
he was arrested without, a warrant; while
tho Enquirer affirms that a true bill was
found against him by the grand jury of
Carroll County for murder.

hereafter be obliged to decline receiving
any committees or delegations whose prin

BOSTON, September is. A convention of
the soldiers ami sailors of Massachusetts
.vas luid in Fancuil Hall, to-day, for the
purpose of adopting measures to secure the
equalization of all bounties to soldiers cf
Massachusetts, and io secure to loyal men
and their posterity tho fruits of the late
war.
N. P. Baiiks was chosen Freftident, and
among the Vice-Presidents were Generals
B. F. Butler and Bartlett. The Conven?
tion was addressed by Gen. Banks, and
the following resolution was adopted:
Resolved, That treason should bo made
odious, and that the authors should be
punished. That in the natue of our starved
and murdered brothers at Andcrsonvillc,
in the narnu of our slaughtered brothers
on every battle-field, in the name of thc
widows and orphans, in the name of Ameri
car liberty and American justice, wi- pro?

ferson Davis. We protest against thc. in?

blood-stained traitor, who should occupy a

Johnson was held at Pennsylvania Square
this evening. William S. Price presided,

demonstration was a very large one.
About 10,000 persons participated in tlc
torch-light procession, and 20,()U0 were at
the meeting. Speeches were made bv
Judge Porter, William IL Wallace, Coi.
Charles J. Biddle, and others, at the main
stand.
