There aro two interesting points in the General's history that we wish the occasion of this stumping tour to explain. The first is, how he came tu vote so persistently for Mr. Jefferson Dan?, in the Democratic Convention, as the nominee for President? The second is, how he managed to get himself and army into that inter? esting position of which General Grant speaks in his famous report, when he says General Butler was corked up tight, os if in n bottle ?
