bales' bf cotton ready, on Monday,
for shipment to Now Orleans-which,
indeed, ho bad made arrangements
to ship on a" boat that was to leave
that day?

the Government officers here, whose

?hipped that has not paid the Go?
vernment tax, and who notified him
that his cotton could not leave until

the brass "tags" all right, and gave

broker stated (what was the fact) that

arranged to ship his cotton that day;
and that it was of the first importance

quested that tho officers should pro
