THE ENGLISH BAPTISTS.-Dr. Brock, of London, is on a visit to this country as a delegate from tho Eng? lish Baptists. At a meeting in Chi? cago ho roported the following: . 'As an evidence that the Baptists of England were a live people, he stated that they had raised in two years and a quarter ?250,000 sterling for church extension purposes. The London Association are building one church every year in some one of the suburbs of that great metropolis. Mr. Spurgeon's church had 3,800 members, and was undoubtedly the largest Christian church in the world. Mr. Landed had 900 members. His had 830. Baptist Noel's 550. The Baptist churches of London are strong and aggressive bodies." C., on the night of the 22d July, 1866, upon tho bodv of mv brother, ALEXAN? DER D. WALR*ER. Two of the murderers (negroes) have boen arrested. The third, a white man, known as BILL MORRIS, alias CHAS. DEREM, alias WYLIE MOR? RIS, is still at large, and is described as follows: Tall, spare-made man; grey eye?, of a peculiar look; short, thick uosc; low forehead; round, lean face; somewhat hump-shouldored; black hair, with a few grey hairs; about thirty-seven years old; weighs about 140 pounds; sneaks slowly, and, when speaking, twists his mouth to tho right side; heavy, dark beard; has been wounded, as well as can be recol? lected, in tho right arm, near thc elbow; with small and bony arms; woro dark coat and dark linen pants. The above murderer is a notorious scoundrel, and has recently, in connection with a band of negroes, been encaged in various other bloody outrage*. Fortunately, an irregular train was ! precipitated into this trap, and seriously damaged, but no lives lost. This work was evidently done by some . fiend who understood tho best means to I accomplish his inhuman purpose, and the running ol' tho trains on tho Road.
