AN ODD TASTE.-A great mau y ar?

human beings. The goats in Mr.
Lynn's ship-yard will scent ont to?
bacco if you have it in your pocket,
and beg you to share it with them.
The deer in the public square have
acquired an inordinate taste for the
same article. The oddest case of a
perversion of natural taste we have
?et seen, is that of a horse at the
rewery of Messrs. Abbott. & Co.
The animal will drink, whenever it
is treated "to it, a bucketful of porter,
and would take more of it if its thirst
was sufficient The liking for the
beverage has been gradually acquired,
just as many people are obliged to ?at
tomatoes, by nauseating ?ogrecs.
The horse was a pet. In 1??* weather,
the drayman would pponge his mouth
with porter. W*at might have been
at first flfor-ootelul, came to be sought
for with the greatest eagerness.
