SOUTHERN CITIZENS IN MEXICO.-A letter from Mexico, of the 10th, says: "But few prominent Confederates are remaining in this city, some having returned to the States, and the rest scattered in different direc? tions-to Europe, Havana, Brazil, or | gone into the interior, seeking em? ployment, which it is impossible to obtain here. Beverly Tucker appears to be persecuted by misfortune-his Canadian and European schemes failed, and finally he came to Mexico, iu order to earn an honorable subsist? ence as correspondent. The loss of his trunk while on his way to this ? city was severely felt by him, and j within a few weeks he has been very I ill with the prevailing disease in this ] city. He is striving manfully to re? trieve his fallen fortunes, takes no part in Mexican politics, and has secured the confidence and good will of all his countrymen. "Gen. Magruder continues to edit j the Mexican Times, and evinces much aptitude in his new profession. Gen. Magruder and Col. Blake are the only Confederate field officers at pre? sent in the capital.
