Missourians have just held for the
appointment of delegates to the Na?
tional Convention, which is to meet
at Philadelphia, the annexed resolu?
tion was adopted unanimously, and
with cheers:
Resolved, That every American citi?
zen, native or naturalized, who is
imbued with the spirit of the true
teachings of American liberty, must
sympathize with the effort of every
oppressed people for securing a like
liberty to themselves; and with the
efforts of Ireland for obtaining her
freedom from English oppression, he
will especially sympathize, and would
aid them, so far as duty to his supe
rio? obligations to the law, peace and
honor of his country will admit.
Just and intelligent Irishmen cannot
ask. more than this, and will rightly
suspect the motives, and will scorn
the professions of those who noisily,
ostentatiously and hypocritically pre?
tend to a greater friendship in their
behalf, like the radical Republicans
now in power in "Washington, who
profess hostility to the neutrality laws,
but refuse to repeal them, and that
we would hail with pleasure any ac?
tion of Congress looking to the libe?
ration of Ireland.

of "Hell for North Carolina." "Help"

that connection.
