heavy cotton transaction, but not in
the legitimate line of business, took
place last evening, the wrong ship
leaving porten route for New York
with 225 bales of cotton. We learn
that the cotton was sent to the steam?
ship wharf by Messrs. Wm. Hunter
& Co., agents of the New Orleans and
Iiiverpool Une, for the purpose of
being shipped on board one of their
steamers. The purser of the steam?
ship Missouri received the cotton and
Sve a teceipt for it, substituting the
issouri for the name of the ship ."or
which it was intended. The matter
