WHEREAS information has been made to me that an atrocious murder was perpetrated in this city, on the 4th inst., on the body of J. T. Starling, by one John Raleigh, who has lied the country; and that said Raleigh may be arrested and brought to condign punishment, I, JAMES L. ORR, Governor of the State of South Carolina, do herehv offer a reward of TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS for thc arrest and delivery of tho said Raleigh to any jailor within tho State, or ONE HUNDRED AND FIFTY DOLLARS for his arrest and deli? very to any jailor in the United States. DESCRIPTION. -Raleigh is about five feet ten inches high, blonde complexion, short curly hair, large moutli, hazel eyes, is very stout ?ind has a careless walk; his teeth arc very irregular, and he is by trade a carpenter.
