MISOEIlLiIiAX'g POTCH AND PHEELTNKS.-A gentle- 1 man lately took the following meteo? rological journal of his wife's temper: Monday-Eather cloudy; in the afternoon rainy. Tuesday-Vaporish; brightened up a little towards evening. "Wednesday-Changeable, gloomy, inclined to rain. Thursday-High wind and some peals of timnder. Friday-Fair in the morning; va? riable in the afternoon; cloudy all night. Saturday-A gentle breeze, hazy, a thick fog and a few flashes of light? ning. Sunday-Tempestuous and rainy; toward evening somewhat calmer. THE BEST EVIDENCE OF SANITY. A case occurred in the Supreme Court of Delaware a few days ago, which strikingly illustrates the advantage of paying for a neirspaper in advance. The will of Mr. "Wm. A. Russell was aontested ; and one of the facts put in evidenee at the trial to sustain it was, that only a few days befr -e its execution he called at the onice of the Democrat and paid for it' a year in advance, thereby saving fifty cents. This fact was dwelt upon at length by counsel, and com? mented on by the Judge in his charge, as satisfactory evidence that Mr. R. was sane, and competent to make a will. South Carolina Railroad.
