Blue, of Missouri, is writing to the St. Louis Republican a series of letters from Rio Janeiro, de? scriptive of the adventures of the emi? grants from tlie South who have settled in Brazil. Ile says: "Judge John fruillett, an old and highly esteemed citizen of Carroll County, with several families, and a Mr. Reavia, of Cooper County, Me., with his interesting family, are now? here, (August,) making about forty North Americans in all, the michies of a good settlement around Col. M. Li. Svaiu, of Louisiana, who has lo cated unel paid for a body of land em the Assuncuy-a branch of the Serra Negro River, which empties into this bay from the North-west, and which is the only practicable route to the mines and to thc rich and open coun? try beyond.
