THE FLORAL FESTIVAL. '.Tbe executive committee of the Agricultural Association met last evening at HolmesV Book House to receive the report of the com mltiea of ai rangements for tbe coming floral exhibition to De given under the auspices of j tbe society. The annual spring picnic of the Burns Char? itable Association ls announced to take place at Mount Pleasant, on tbe 29th Instant. The claimants, wbo are represented by George R. Walker, Esq., ot the firm of Messrs. Walker ? Another session will be held at Columbia on the 15tb Instant, another at Baltimore on tbe 23d In? stant, and another at Savannah on the 1st proximo._ A MILD MURDER CASE One of those curious cases which occasion? ally turn np belore magistrates and in the courts, presented ltsell at the office of Trial j Justice Levy yesterday. A colored woman, named Beady Simons, made an affidavit for J the arrest of her husband, Joe Simons, on a charge of attempting to murder their four children. The curious part of the case is tbe manner In which the attempt to murder was alleged to bave been made. The woman stated that her husband and herself had been married for many years, during which time they bad been blessed with sigh; children, loor or whom wer? still living, tbe youngest being a boy nine years old. The husband bas of late become Indifferent to the affections of his wile and the necessities of his children, and has relnsed to oontrlbiite any? thing to their support, and so the wife prays that he may he arrested and tried on the charge of attempting to mnrder, in the man? ner above set forth.
