Savannah Market-Weekly Rtvlew. SAVANNAH, January 16. COTTON.-Hie marker, during the early part of j the past week, advanced rap'dly. and good quali? ties being scarce, became relatively dearer than usual, and have continued so. Receipts on Mon? day, reported very heavy, cheesed the upward tendency, and we have dad a quiet market since, with fewer sales than would have been effected had a good selection been offered. Factors have exhibited great reluctance to meet buyers' views, and on the advance lu New York this even? ing are very firm, refusing to sell under Xe over the morning's figures. We quote closing prices: For middlings 20Xc, low middlings 20,'ic, good ordinary 19j?c At New Orleans there seems a growing Impres? sion of a shorter crop than m031 people started with, and from our correspondence the range of estimates, formerly 3,loo,ooo to 3,500,000, ft re? duced to three and three and a quarter millions, 6ome even lower and few higher. Liverpool, however, seems very sensitive, and looks upon OT. receipts keenly, sad doubtless has discount ed the great discrepancy which must occur be? tween this year and last during the next few weeks. It would be contrary to all information should any thing like an average of over loo.or o | ] bales ror 'the coming eight weeks be received, while In the corresponding period last season the weekly receipts averaged 138,600 bales. Liver? pool circulars do not seem sanguine of very mach higher prices than are now current, as spinners are barely holding their own, and man? ufacturers are said to be losing money. Oar information about Red river. In last review, was Inaccurate. New Orleans having received heavily from that stream, the Ouachlt*. however, belDg still behind in deliveries so far. The common qualities are dull or sale, the demand ror them being very unlimited. We quote: Common nominal; medium 45a50c; medium fine 55aeoc: fine 65a70c. Wilmington Market-Weekly Review. WILMINGTON, January 18. TURPENTINE.-There ha? been a steady and ac? tive demand for this article dut lng the entire pe TWan'iir p-wy^w ail pu.Jiu? tine BUiUQUt coming to market ls so small that lt has been al? most impossible to meet the distiller's wants. The shipments for Hie week have been much larger than the receipts, and there ls very little now in market. The scarcity of stock has not bad the effect to operate on price', and the mar? ket has ruled as lt opened, at $3 66 for hard, and $6 60 for yellow dip and virgin. SPIRITS TURPENTINE.-Since our last report this article has been in active demand, and all in first I ? hands that could be reached has been taken by I c buyers for shipment. The receipts have been 1 ' small, while lhe shipments are l?ree, and the stock here ls lighter than bas been known for a long time. On Friday the market opened at the closing figure or last week, and buyers would wll Ungly bave given 66c. but sellers were asking higher figures, and in conseque^ the sales or the day were confined to one small lot, which sold at 65c On Saturday the samo ree lng was manifest, and no transactions were made during the day. On Monday the market opened a little weaker, but lt became firm again, and Friday 'a figure was fully maintained. Tuesday it opened at the clos? ing figure of the previous day, and a small lot was taken at same figures. At noon the advices from New York wi re received, which were ravor able, an advance of lc was obtained, and to-day (thursday) lt again advanced Xe The market has ruled active during the entire week, and all offering has been taken, market closing firm at I saxe. ROSIN.-We have no'new fe ature to present In the market for this article during the week just passed. For the finer qualities there has been no demand worthy of report, and the transactions have been confined to a few small lots. The low? er grades have been lu moderate request at quo? tations given in our last, but they have been gen? erally held at figures above the views of buyers, and in consequence the rales have been light. For the last three or four days the market has been unusually quiet, with no transactions, and we hardly know bow to stats the condition of the market. '1 he receipts have been unusually sm a 1, while the exports to both foreign and coastwise ports have been very neaw. The stock here ls tight, ihe bulk or which ls ld shippers' hands, and ls not offering sale. TAR-Has been brought to market very slowly since our last, and the arrlva's have been confin? ed to small lots, 'lhere ls a good i'emand exist? ing, and receipts would find ready sale when offer ed at $2 26 per bbl. LABARRAQUE AND Co QUINiUM LABARRAQUE Approved by the Imperial Academy opMedicme The Quinlan ?abarraque is an eminently tonic and febrifuge Wine, destined to replace all the other preparations of Peruvian Bark l?ie Bark Wines usually employed inme dicine are prepared from Barks which vary considerably in the degree to which they possess the desired properties. Besides, owing to the manner in which they are pre? pared, these Wines contain scarcely more than the traces of active principles', and these always in variable proportions. The Quinlan* La barraque, approved by the Academy of Medicine, constitutes, on the contrary, a m?decine of determined compo? sition, rich in active principles, and on wich Physicians and Patients can always rely. The Quinlans Labarraqae is prescribed with great success for persons of weak con? fution, or for those debilitated by various exhausting causes or past sickness ; for youths fatigued by too rapid growth; for young girls whose development takes place with difficulty ; foe women in childbirth ; and for aged persons enfeebled by years or illness It is the best preservative against Fevers. In cases of Chlorosis, Anemia, orGreensik? ness, this Wine is a powerful auxiliary of the ferruginous preparations. In conjuaclion, for example, with VALLET'S PILLS, the rapidj? ty of its action is really marvellous', tepet in Paris, L. FRERE, 19, rue Jacob.
