cold change, but has been good weather for field
work, and some or the early preparations for the

TEX RECEIPTS.-The arrivals at the cotton ports
for the week up to t rid ay last were 94,696 bales,
against 110;028 the week before, and 131,685 ior
the period last year. At New Orleans the receipts
were 31,689 bales lu contrast with 44,693 the sea
sou previous. The'total supplies-at the cotton
ports from September l, 1871, np to the latest
dates were 1,653,894 bales, against 1,978,368 bales
the year before, showlrg a decrease of 324,474
hales. The total arrivals at the principal South
ern markets from September 1, 1871, np to the
latest telegraphic Intelligence, as c mpared with

strong and advancing reatares early In the week,
but became qui -t and easier, the rates in
the foreign market, which commenced at

period were moderate,, amounting to about 701
bags of Carolinas aud Florid as. There was a fair?

ures, the transactions for the week amounting to
about 600 bags of all kinds. Among the sales

NAV?L STORES.-These articles came forward
in a moderate way; the arrivals ror the week were
about 1200 bbls. During this period but little
buslness was dune, and the market was quiet,
factors holding light stocks f rmly, while pnrcha
sers were offering unacceptable rates. The trans?
actions were c nsequently light. About 350 bills
spirits turpentine were disposed or at 64@85c "B
gallon, the higher price ror regular packages.
Rosins have been without sales or note, factors
showing no disposition to yield. The on y sale
was a lot of 150 bhls N J 3 rosin at $3 95.
HAT.-The arrivals consisted of about 86 bales
rr omi Philadelphia, 80 from New York, and 350
by rall from the West. We learn of sales of
aoout 160 bales or North River qualities at $1 80?

CORN.-About 6000 bushels of this grain came
io hand from Baltimore. Jobbing lots of prime
