THE Caora.-The weather during the pa-t week
wasgenerally dry and moderate In ibis section,
bat was somewhat unsettled for a part or the
tame, which interfered with work. The reports
from the interior still indicate reduction In the
yield, and would seem to point to a heavy falling
off tn the cotton crop.
TH? RECEIPTS.-The arrivals at the cotton
ports for the week up to Friday last were 20.606
bales, against 12,661 the previous week and3*,667
for lae period last season. At Mew Orleans the
receipts were 3657 bales, in contrast with 8416 the
week of the year before. The total supplies at the
cotton ports from SepteraiT ist, 1871, up to the
atest dates were 62,910 bales, against 93,602 bales
the previous year, showing a <lecrease of 35,692
bales, rae receipts at the pria ?pal Southern
markets irom September I, 1371, up to the lat? si
